The work process begins with an intimate question as a focal point, how can we express something that concerns us all?
Can the personal become universal, or is it inherently universal by its very nature?
DANCE SHOW "ARTISSUE: LINEAGE"
The performance “Artissue: Lineage” questions the connection between the personal/intimate and the communal/universal, exploring the boundaries between street-club dance styles and contemporary dance and how they mutually influence each other.
The focus is on dance that intertwines various forms and styles. The time and place in which she lives encourages the author to question the boundaries of dance styles.

Where do styles begin and end? Are we molding them into new forms by abandoning their original character? How to inherit and preserve the past while at the same time there is a need for development and breaking into the otherness of the same?
The performance is part of the “ARTissue” research process, in which Paunovski re-examines artistic practices in relation to movement and the body, as well as their history and roots.

A co-production of HKD in Sušak and the Greek DAN.C.CE UNITIVA
The author of “Lineage” begins the conversation as a guest at the 2023 American Dance Festival.
The performance is a co-production of HKD in Sušak and the Greek DAN.C.CE UNITIVA, which puts dancers from the street-club dance scene into a performance of contemporary dance.
The music for the show is composed and performed live by members of the Rijeka Chamber Philharmonic, and the show features two dancers from Rijeka and two hip-hop dancers from Athens.

The co-production was created as part of the Moving Balkans dance network, of which HKD is also a member, and which is supported by the European Union.
